Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Course
As a landmark decision by the Indian government, Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act, also known as POCSO, was implemented by the Indian Government in 2012.
The POCSO Act is much appreciated because it holds any spectator, individual or group, accountable if they do not report any kind of sexual offence against a child.
Under the act, the accused has to prove their innocence rather than the child having to prove that the offence occurred. The mental and physical safe-keeping of the aggrieved child is the top-most priority as per the POCSO Act.
